An Eternal Resolution

January 1st....a day for new beginnings, for new adventures, for new resolutions.  The Oxford Dictionary defines resolution to mean "a firm decision to do or not do something".   For some it is to exercise more, while others decide to read more books.  Some decide to stop smoking or eat more healthy.  Others commit to spend more time with their family or to spend less money and save more.  All of these are excellent resolutions,  but in light of eternity, do they really matter?  At the end of 2017, will someone's life have been changed because of these?  I, like so...

Saying Goodbye to a Dream

As we spend our last night in this house, I am sad.  I feel like I am saying goodbye to a dream.  Our dream was to have a home to grow old in.  A home with lots of land to raise our children.  A place to teach them the value of hard work and how to work as a family.  When we first walked into the house, we both fell in love.  In so many ways, the Lord made it evident that this was the home He wanted us to have.  It was so clear.  It needed a lot of...

When we arrived back to the U.S. after our 2 years in Togo, we felt God calling us to settle down here; like our time in Togo was complete.  As we looked for a home, we looked for something where we could grow our family.  A place to bring our grandchildren to one day.  We knew the type home we wanted that would allow us to raise our children according to how we felt the Lord leading our family.  We searched and prayed.....and searched and prayed.
